This month we were reminded of the grief that our families often feel. On the 19th March, Karen’s mother, Don’s mother-in-law and Maddie’s grandmother Colleen passed away unexpectedly. Colleen was the matriarch of our extended family and will be dearly missed.

Like many of our families, we all felt overcome with sadness and didn’t really know where to start. Luckily, we were carefully guided by the funeral director we chose, and Colleen’s final tribute was perfect. We’re sure it will last in our memories forever.

This process has reminded us of how important it is to help guide our families through very difficult times in their lives. It is important for us to listen, provide options and help make your vision eventuate. Now more than ever, we understand the desire for you to have things ‘just right’ in order to honour your loved one’s life and memory.

For now, we are getting back into routine and learning to live with our grief on a day-to-day basis. Knowing that we are helping others is a comfort. We’d really like to thank our families for their understanding and compassion during this time.
